Sapa Awards Topas For Charitable Work

Since 2016, Topas Travel has worked on various charitable projects for the benefit of local communities in the Sapa area – work that has recently been formally recognised by the People’s Committee.

Over the last five years, Topas has implemented more than 20 projects. Many focus on education, including school repairs; building boarding houses and new classrooms; and building a garden and playground for a school.

Other projects have included building new bridges; building clean water tanks and building local roads in some extremely remote villages.

Following this work, Topas Travel was recently presented with a certificate of merit by the Chairman of Sapa‘s People of Committee for its positive contributions to the local community.

A dedicated certificate was also given directly to Mr.Tran Duc Kien, Project Manager of Topas Travel, who has been in charge of researching, planning and executing the projects.

“I am proud to have contributed to the implementation of Topas’s charity projects over the past years. I am very happy to receive the certificate because this is the local recognition for the positive contributions of Topas, including our board of management and all employees. Together with Topas and my colleagues, I hope to continue to execute many meaningful projects in the future”, Kien said.

Much of the funding for these Lao Cai projects has come from the Vietnam Mountain Marathon which is set to continue raising funds for more charitable work in the coming years.
