This year VMM will be the Asia Trail Master (ATM) Super Trail here in Vietnam, meaning extra points are on offer.
The SuperTrail label means all finishers on the two longest distance categories will receive 50 bonus points for the ATM Championship 2020 – potentially very important for the runners aiming for top rankings.
For many years the Vietnam Mountain Marathon 70k and 100k have been points races for the ATM championship. This means mountain runners can not only gain points at our events toward the Vietnam Trail Series, but at our fellow events all around Asia.
Runners can then aim for a good placing on the ATM table, or even aim to become the overall champion, as our 2019 Vietnam Jungle Marathon champ Veronika Vadovičová, and our previous VMM champ Kim Matthews did.
For those aiming to become the Vietnam Trail Series champion 2020, the Super Trail label does not impact the VTS points available at VMM, with 300 bonus points still on offer for everyone finishing the 100k.
