Please also note that there will be no disposable spoons/bowls at checkpoints. This step will reduce waste dramatically. If you want to eat the hot food at checkpoints, bring your own container and spoon – something light and small. A small plastic container and spoon weight is around 40 grams. That is less than one energy bar. Removing disposable spoons and bowls has been done at other races that aim to reduce their waste and it has been successful.
