Blue Dragon Kids Conquer VJM
A massive congratulations to the children of the Blue Dragon Running Club for conquering the Vietnam Jungle Marathon!
At VJM 33 kids and some Blue Dragon staff swapped the hustle and bustle of the urban jungle for Vietnam’s actual jungle.
There, the energetic youngsters ran up mountains, crossed streams and navigated tricky terrain. What’s more, they did it all with beaming smiles on their faces.
Despite their exertion, two of these talented runners still found the energy for one final climb… onto the podium!
For Thu, as a deaf girl, running in her first organised event was both daunting and exciting: “Everything was new to me. But the scenery was amazing, and there were so many hardworking staff supporting us. Even though I couldn’t speak, everyone I met on the run cared for me and helped me with food and water. Their encouragement made me feel very happy!”
Well done to all the kids and also the great Blue Dragon staff who made their trip to join us at VJM possible.
Thank you also to the people of Ban Hang village who work with us at Topas to welcome the kids to 4 houses in the village for race weekend.
