VMM has been supporting Operation Smile for many years to fund their life-changing surgeries for children from the northern province of Lao Cai, home to our ultra mountain race.
Funds from Vietnam Mountain Marathon 2019 have recently been used to support Operation Smile Vietnam to bring smiles to 35 children born with facial deformities.
The operation mission was organised from late April to June 2020 at the Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Hospital.
This is the direct result of the VMM2019 runners who together donated VND 278,328,750 for Operation Smile Vietnam through their race entry fees.

Over the years Vietnam Trail Series participants have contributed tens of thousands of dollars to help Operation Smile conduct many life changing operations. The total amount now given to all charitable activities by VTS races is over USD$285,400.
