Official VJM Photographer, Van Ngo’s Pu Luong story

Over the years of capturing Topas trail races, Van Ngo has become a familiar name behind some of the most iconic images of Vietnam’s mountains and runners. Through his lens, Pu Luong comes alive – not just in its landscapes, but in its spirit – where nature, people, and the passion for adventure intertwine.

For Van, aka Gấu , returning to Pu Luong is never just another assignment. Here is his story, in his own words:
“The first time I came to Pu Luong was in 2020 – when this place was still a big question mark to me.

“I knew nothing about how to get there, where to stay, or what to eat… Yet, just like every memorable journey, I somehow found the right bus, and those cozy home-cooked meals at a homestay came so naturally.

“Since then, Pu Luong has slowly become a familiar part of me – a place of unplanned reunions.

“Five years, four returns: two times conquering the 70km race, and two times to capture moments and breathe in the fresh mountain air, sharing the excitement of the runners.”

“And this year, once again, I’m here – right now – surrounded by the familiar shades of green, walking those same paths filled with memories.

See you soon in Pu Luong ❤️
