VJM 2020: Postponed to 24 October 2020

Question and Answer

We are sorry to announce that Vietnam Jungle Marathon 2020 must be postponed.

1. Why is VJM Postponed?

The authorities of Thanh Hoa province have decreed (decision number 2872/UBND-VX) that Vietnam Jungle Marathon cannot take place on May 23 due to the COVID-19 coronavirus.

2. When is the new date?

The new date is October 24 2020 – the second beautiful golden rice season of the year.

All race entries (and packages) are automatically transferred to the new date, Oct 24 2020.

3. Are refunds available?

We will extend the 50% refund policy (full details) to one month before the new date (i.e. Sept 24, one month before Oct 24).

The full refund period has now passed. This will remain in effect – no full refunds can be given.

We will also now allow registrations (including packages) to be transferred to another runner for the new date, free of charge.

4. Can I transfer my slot for the new race date to someone else?

Yes, you can do so, free of charge. Packages can also be transferred. The last date to do this is one month before race day. Please send new runner’s registration details using the form (download HERE) to email info@vietnamjunglemarathon.com for further assistance.

5. Can I defer my slot to VJM 2021?

Yes, and free of charge.

  • Please email us to do so by Aug 24: info@vietnamjunglemarathon.com. Date for 2021 is to be confirmed.
  • Refund policy for VJM 2021 transfers: extend the 50% refund policy until 1 month before 2021 race day.
  • Note: entries cannot be transferred to other VTS races.

6. Will the race change in any other way?

No, the date alone will change.

7. What is the email address if I have further questions?

Please send them to info@vietnamjunglemarathon.com for further assistance.

*Standard Terms and Conditions (accepted on sign up and also sent in your registration email).
Relevant sections that we have adapted to ease the impact on runners have been highlighted and underlined.

“Organisers also reserve the right to cancel the event for any other reason which may include but is not limited to terrorism and war. If the event is cancelled, re-routed or shortened, no refund or transfer to another event will be made. (note – we have adapted this clause in order to allow more flexibility for runners). Due to the scale of the event and travel and commitment involved for competitors, it is not practical to re-schedule the event to any other weekend.”
