The final standings on the World Trail Majors leaderboards are determined by the BEST TWO results across the 12 World Trail Majors races. Runners only need to run 2 of the races to get on the board.

Both the VMM 100km and VMM 50km are set to shake up the overall leaderboard for both the Short Series and the Ultra Series

 

A win at a race gives 1500 points, making 3000 the maximum a runner can take from their two counting World Trail Majors races. In the event of a tie, ITRA Index race scores will determine the winner.

 

The short series races are all around 50km in length. The first prize for the overall World Trail Majors Short Series is 9000 Euro.

 

> Jianjian Yang already has one with worth 1500 points at Hong Kong 100 The Half – 57km, plus a second place at Swiss Canyon Trail by Kailas Fuga. These give him 2920 points. However, if he wins VMM 50km, he will put 1500 points from VMM together with 1500 from his Hong Kong 100, and go into first place overall with the maximum 3000 points.

 

> Fuzhao Xiang is also already on 1500 points following her win at the Mount FUJI 100 40km. She will therefore jump into first place if she wins the VMM 50km, taking another 1500 points for the maximum 3000

 

The long distance races range from around 100km to 160km. First prize for this series is 12,000 Euro, also based on the best 2 results.

 

> Wenfei Xie recently took 3rd and 1360 points at the Grand Raid Pyrenees 165km. If she takes the win at VMM 100km, that will put her on 2860 points and in provisional first place overall.

 

> Chi Lingjie currently has 1260 points from her race at Hong Kong 100. If she were to win at VMM, she would be on 2760 – enough for provisional 3rd place overall.

 

For the men in this distance, it is the Ultra Trail Cape Town, the last race of the season, that is set to be decisive. At that race the start line will feature Seth Ruhling (Black Canyon Ultras winner); Caleb Olson, the Transgrancanaria champion; and Joaquín López, the winner of Mt. FUJI 100.
