In the men’s 70km distance race, The winner and second place runners of VMM 100k 2018, Nguyen Tien Hung (Vietnam) and Hisashi Kitamura (Japan) will be facing off again at VJM.
Hung is a hot favourite for any race he enters from 10k to 100k, while Hisashi Kitamura currently sits in second place on the ATM championship rankings.
Beside them, many other fast runners will be on the start line, including Ander Iza Rekakoetxea (Spain), 2nd place MAPAWA 50km; Tomohiro Mizukoshi (Japan), 3rd Osj Ontake 100 2017; Julien Petit (France), 3rd VMM2017 and 2018 70km; and David Longo from Australia.
In the women’s ultra field, Two VMM 100k champs will go head to head at VJM, with the 2016 winner Nathalie Cochet (France), Set to race 2018 champ Evelyn Lek (Singapore).
However many other champions are in the field including Vanja Cnops (Belgium), winner of Vietnam Trail Marathon 42km; Veronika Vadovicova (Slovakia), winner of Mogan Ultra 2018 70km; and Siok Har Lim (Malaysia), winner of Vang Vieng Trail 2018 85km.
