Your run begins inside Topas Ecolodge from where you will soon turn onto a trail before you link up with the 50k ultra runners in a small Red Dao minority village.

After dropping 400m altitude on a variety of beautiful paths and trails through more small villages and stunning rice terraces, you will have to make it back up again, climbing steadily up to your highest point on the course. The higher you climb, the grander the views!

From here you drop almost 1000m on fantastic trail into the river valley. The majestic views along the way include a panorama of your next challenge – the trails leading into the remote Nam Cang valley.

After you cross the dam over the Muong Bo River yet more great trail will bring you to a river crossing and later Thanh Phu village where you will join the 12k runners.

From here, you will run along a beautiful hidden valley on a clay trail used by the villagers and their buffalo.

After a paved section you will reach Nam Nhiu village (home of the Red Dao minority) and your first checkpoint where you can refill water and get some fruits.

The next section is breathtaking. The trail runs through the middle of the valley which will be full of postcard-perfect terraces dotted with bamboo huts. After crossing a small bridge that was built with support from Topas Travel, you climb a steep hill heading to Nam Cang village.

You soon will complete your race with a great jungle section – this is hard and uphill and will make your finish feeling all the sweeter as you cross the suspension bridge finish line at Topas Riverside Lodge, before a well earned cool down in the river!
